Maxine Chaffin age 80 of Guin, AL died Saturday, January 07, 2012 at Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Guin, AL. 

Born in Marion County, AL, she was the daughter of the late Ferd and Ethel Lee Henson.  She is the wife of the late James Hoyt Chaffin.  She  had lived in the Guin community most of her life and was a member of the Hamilton Free Will Baptist Church.  Maxine retired as a supervisor with Health Tex.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was an avid supporter of the Auburn Tigers and MCHS Red Raiders. 

She is survived by two daughters:  Brenda (Henry) Beasley of Hamilton, AL and Susan (Rex) McCarley of Guin, AL, three sons:  Doug (Debbie) Chaffin, Cary (April) Chaffin, and Greg (Jean) Chaffin all of Guin, AL, ten grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by her parents:  Ferd and Ethel Lee Henson, her husband:  James Hoyt Chaffin, and two grandchildren:  Dallas Chaffin and Brooke McCarley. 

Services held Sunday, January 08, 2012 at 2:00 PM from the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Mt. Willing Cemetery.  Bro. Tommy Frank and Bro. Freddie Miles officiating. 

Pallbearers will be James Beasley, Jared Chaffin, Caleb Chaffin, Scott Shirley, Zane Miles, and Tommy Meherg.
