Jane C. Weeks, age 84, of Vestavia Hills, Alabama, died May 29, 2011.  She was a graduate of The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and UAB, where she received her bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology.  After working many years at Guin Hospital, she taught at Marion County High School and Guin Elementary. She later moved to Birmingham and was a member at Mountain Chapel United Methodist Church.   

She was a wonderful, self-less mother to her two children and a caring grandmother to her four grandchildren.   

She was preceded in death by her husband Johnnie T. Weeks, her parents Will and Velma Cashion, and two sisters, Mary Nell Lungsford and Chloe Ann Green.  She is survived by her sister, Liz Akers, of Guin, Alabama, her son, Jerry Weeks, of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, her daughter, Nancy Harrelson, of Hoover, Alabama, and grandchildren John Weeks, Rachel Weeks, Robyn Harrelson Kieffer and Cassie Harrelson. 

A memorial service will be held Tuesday May 31, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Mountain Chapel United Methodist Church.  Memorials may be made to St Jude Hospital and Guin United Methodist Church.
