Clyde Smith, Sr. age 79 of Guin, AL died Friday, December 18, 2009 in the St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham, AL.

Born in Marion County, AL.  He is the Son of the late Grover and Rosa Beasley Smith.  He had lived in Guin most of his life and had retired from 3M.  He was a Veteran of the Korean War having served in the US Air Force and was a member of the Liberty Free Will Baptist Church.

He is survived by his Wife, Eva McWaters Smith of Guin, AL, 4 Daughters, Glenda Smith of Washington, DC, Carole Loveless of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Rosa (Steve) Warren of Winfield, AL and Nancy (James) Busby of Winfield, AL, A Son, Steven Smith of Winfield, AL, and A Daughter In Law, Teresa Smith of Winfield, AL, 20 Grandchildren and 36 Great Grandchildren, and 3 Sisters, Jessie Smith and Ruth Nix of Guin, AL, and  Mary (Coy) Kelly of Detroit, AL. 

He was also preceded in death by 2 Sons, Dewone Smith and Clyde Smith, Jr. 

Services held Sunday, December 20, 2009 at 2:00 PM from the Liberty Free Will Baptist Church with burial in the adjoining cemetery.  Bro. Jim Carrington and Bro. Mark Riggs officiating.
