J. D. Franks age 90 of Guin, AL died Wednesday, June 8, 2010 in the Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Guin, AL. 

Born in Marion County, AL he is the Son of the late Hosia E. and Beatrice Pollard Franks and the Husband of the late Mary Lee McKay Franks.  He had lived in Guin most of his life and retired from the 3M Company.  He was a member of the Guin First United Methodist Church. 

He is survived by a Daughter, Dee Ann (Harold) Cook of Bessemer, AL, 2 Sons, Larry (Judy) Franks of Moody, AL and Steve (Diane) Franks of Alexander City, AL, 5 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Mary Lee McKay Franks, 2 Sisters, Norma Lee Berryhill and Etta Mae Flippo and 2 Brothers, H. J. Franks and Billy Gene Franks. 

Services held Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 11:00 AM from the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Guin City Cemetery.  Bro. David Parker officiating.
