Mr. J.C. Young age 85 of Sulligent, AL died Sunday, January 3, 2010 at the DCH Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, AL. 

Born in Lamar County to the late Samuel and Bessie Gibbs Young. He was a member of the American Legion and member of the Taylor Springs Freewill Baptist Church were he served as the church secretary. J.C. served in the U.S. Army in WWII and was a resident of the Sulligent area most of his life and had retired for the Hyster Company. He loved reading his Bible, and spending time with his Grandchildren. 

Survived by his Wife: Fay Gosa Young of Sulligent, AL, Two Daughters: Judith A. Hatfield and Jackie N. Flake both of Beaverton, AL, Two Brothers: Clifton woods of California and Preston Woods of Georgia, Seven Grandchildren, Twelve Great Grandchildren and Two Great - Great Grandchildren. 

Preceded in death by his Parents, A Daughter: Wanda Fay Whitmire and Several Brothers and Sisters. 

Services held Thursday, January 7, 2010 at 2:00 pm from the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Love Joy Cemetery. Bro. Israel Price officiating.
