Hershel Gann age 86 of Guin, AL died Monday, December 7, 2009 at his residence. 

Born in Birmingham, AL.  He is the Son of the late Lem and Mattie Presley Gann.  He had lived in Guin most of his life and was a Veteran of World War II having served in the US Air Force and received the Purple Heart.  He taught Radio and TV at Northwest Technical College in Hamilton and was a member of the Liberty Free Will Baptist Church. 

Survivors are his Wife, Helen Nicholson Gann of Guin, AL, A Daughter, Kathy Gann of Guin, AL, A Son, Dr. Gerald (Brenda) Gann of Tupelo, MS, 2 Grandchildren, Paul (Tanya) Gann and Leanna (Christopher) Whitehead, 3 Great Grandchildren, Kerstin and Rylee Whitehead and Gavin Gann, 2 Sisters, Virginia Cain of Florence and Norma Jean Otts of Cumming, GA. 

He was also preceded in death by a Brother, R.T. Gann. 

Services Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at 2:00 PM from the chapel with burial in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens.  Dr. Gerald Gann, Bro. James Walden, Bro. Mark Riggs and Bro. James Carrington officiating.
