Douglas Darlton Hankins Jr. age 82 of Beaverton, AL died Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at the DCH Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, AL. 

Born in Hickory Flats, Mississippi to the late Douglas Darlton Hankins Sr. and Annie Williams Hankins. Douglas was a Veteran and served in the Army between WWII and the Korean War. He was a member of the Taylor Springs Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and spending time with his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Mr. Hankins retired from the A&H Cleaners in Vernon, AL were he was owner and operator for many years. 

Survived by his Wife: Annie Mae Sorrells Hankins of Beaverton, AL, One Daughter: Nelda Herron and her Husband Danny of Fayette, Al, Two Sons: Randy Hankins and his Wife Joann and David Lynn Hankins all of Sulligent, AL, One Sister: Maxine Schultz of Rockford, IL, Four Grandchildren: Jason Hankins, Jerry Herron, Michelle Herron, and Chastity Hankins Two Great Grandchildren: Nataleigh Hankins and John Randall Hankins and a Host of Nieces and Nephews. 

Preceded in death by his Parents and Two Sisters: Edna Frost and Lucille Crews. 

Services held Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 5:00 PM from the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Taylor Springs Cemetery. Bro Jeremy Sorrells officiating.
