Dorothy Christain Chaffin age 90 of Guin, AL died Friday, May 15, 2010 in the Golden Living Center in Winfield. 

Born in Lamar County, AL she is the Daughter of the late Thomas and Julia Butler Christain and the Wife of the late J. E. Chaffin.  She had lived in Sulligent and Guin most of her life.  She graduated from  Massey Business College and worked for Health Tex as Office Manager and Bookkeeper for 26 years  before retiring.  She was a member of the Guin First Baptist Church where she was a choir member and served on the Bereavement Committee for many years.  She enjoyed quilting, gardening and working in her flowers. 

She is survived by A Daughter, Sheila (Terry) Young of Mary Ester, FL, 2 Grandchildren, Everett Eugene "Butch" (Lea) Chaffin, Jr. and Mistie (Josh) Nichols all of Mobile, AL, 4 Great Grandchildren, Cayla, Chloe, Carlee and Veronica, A Sister, Nannie South of Sulligent, AL and A Brother, J. T. (Sue)  Christain of Beaverton, AL.   

She was also preceded in death by her Husband, J.E. Chaffin,  2 Sons, Michael Chaffin and Everett Eugene "Butch" Chaffin Sr. and 2 Sisters and 5 Brothers. 

Services held Monday, May 17, 2010 at 1:00 pm from the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Fairview Cemetery.  Bro. Scott Stokes officiating. 

Pallbearers were nephews.
