Doris Nell Knight age 84 of Greenwood Springs, MS, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at the Oak Tree Plantation Assisted Living in Amory, MS. 

She was born in Lamar County to the late Haston and Nettie Belk Spruiell. Doris was a member of the Wesley Chapel Methodist Church in Detroit, AL and had lived most of her life in the Splunge Community. Doris and her husband J.D. Knight were married for Sixty Two years. She enjoyed caring for her dog (Sadie) and her cat (Butch), she loved shopping, working in her yard and spending time with her family and friends. 

Survived by her Husband: J.D. Knight of Greenwood Springs, MS, Two Daughters: Kathy (John) Priddy and Carol (Ray) Thompson both of Sulligent, AL, one Son: Dwight (Lori) Knight of Detroit, AL, Six Grandchildren: Melanie Thompson, Eric Priddy, Toby Thompson, Pamela Priddy Lovelady (Jamie), Dusty Thompson Webster (Brandon) and Andrea Knight, Five Great Grandchildren: Jaden Priddy, Garrett Lovelady, Slade, Colton and Abby Webster.

Preceded in death by a Brother: Sam Spruiell. 

Services held Friday, July 1, 2011 at 2:00 PM from the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Bro. Tim Markham and Bro. Tommy Spruiell officiating. 

Visitation: Friday, July 1, 2011 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM just prior to service time. 

Pallbearers were: Larry Knight, James Estes, Eric Priddy, Don Spruiell, Bud Belk and J.B. Markham. 

Honorary Pallbearers: Fred Heckart, Employees of Oak Tree Plantation, Kenneth Knight, Kermit Minga, Melvin Noe, Bob Black, Tim Otts, Malone Knight, Brent Knight, Gary Knight and Toby Thompson.
