Catherine Hulsey Whitehead age 96 of Guin, AL passed away Friday, November 20, 2009 after a brief illness. 

Mrs. Whitehead was preceded in death by her husband, Birvel. 

She is survived by her Niece, Kay Hulsey Tippins and Husband Robert of Panama City, FL, Great Nephew, Terry L. Tippins of Lawrenceville, GA, Great Niece Diane T. Barker of Cumming, GA and numerous Cousins in the Guin area.   

Mrs. Whitehead was a postal worker, retired from the Guin Post Office.  She was an avid Alabama Football Fan and enjoyed attending games until her health declined.  She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church Guin where she played the organ for many years at worship services, worked in Children’s Sunday School, sang in choir, and was an active member of WMU. 

Services held Sunday, November 22, 2009 at 3:00 pm from the First Baptist Church Guin with burial in the Guin City Cemetery.  Bro. Scott Stokes officiating. 

Pallbearers were, Johnny May, Alan Shirley, Roger Garrison, George Wallace, Donald Webb and Jonathan May.  

A special thanks to all the employees of Sunset Manor for the loving care given.
