Mr. Brooks Barnes age 74 of Sulligent, Alabama died Tuesday November 17, 2009 at the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield, AL. 

Mr. Barnes was born in Lamar County to the late Kelsie and Cora Lee Hollis Barnes. He was of the Freewill Baptist Faith and had lived in the Crews community for the past forty eight years. Brooks had retired from Hyster / NACCO Co as a machine operator; he had also worked at Rays Store on Front Street in Sulligent, AL for several years. 

Survived by his Wife: Dorothy Faye Haney Barnes of Sulligent, AL, Two Daughters: Karen Barnes of Tuscaloosa, Al and Kim and Bro. Keith Spencer of Guin, AL, One Son: Mike Barnes and his wife Pam of Sulligent, AL, Two Brothers: Fred Barnes and his wife Faye and Dempsy Barnes and his wife Grace all of Sulligent, AL, Two Grandchildren: Brandy Flippo and husband Dustin of Fayetteville, NC and Stacy Puckett of Guin, AL, Three Great Grandchildren: Cheyane and Rafe Puckett and Aidan Flippo and a Host of Nieces and Nephews. 

Preceded  in death by his Parents, and Five Brothers; J.B. Barnes, Richard Barnes, Sam Barnes, Kenneth Barnes and Jessie Lee Barnes Sr. 

Services held Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 2: pm from the Taylor Springs Freewill Baptist Church with burial in the Taylor Springs Cemetery. Bro. Edward Puckett and Bro. Roger Redus officiating.

Pallbearers were: Sidney Barnes, Wayne Barnes, Tim Barnes, Jessie Lee Barnes Jr. Ronnie Barnes and Robert Allen.
